The need for an Intensive care unit (ICU) and the survival from critical diseases are raising. This is not completely ascribed to accelerate in intensive care, and the even growth of ICU capacity to meet the request for intensive care. Moreover, the exceptional disruption of the new disease COVID-19 led to the growth of ICUs all over the world.
Therefore, as the number of patients needing the treatment in ICU rises, a comparable number of members will experience the excursion of admission of a folk in ICU.
Critical illness or injuries have a large impact on the whole family, owing to the fact that the patient forms half of the patient while the other half is the patients’ family unit. Every now and then, the illness of a folk affects the health of the whole family, ideas, and behaviors in different ways.
Approximately 35.9% and 18.9% of the family who has participated in their study, experienced anxiety and depression mutually. Out of 350 members of the offspring studied, 76% experienced cautionto the severe problems of these: 81.4% experience anxiety, 94.2% experience depression, and an average score of lethargy of 79.4%.
Since nurses have more confrontation with the patients’ families, it is necessary for them to identify the folks’ needs and support families using family nursing interference in ICU.
It includes nurse-family meetings, health-promoting conversations with the families, and its family accounts. This calls for more demands on nurses to make use of family nursing practices in all care settings.
Objectives of the study:
The objective of this study was to evaluate the amount of family nursing practice and nurses’ mental outlook towards offspring attention in care among the nurses working in the adult intensive care units. Secondly, it is inspected the equivalence between nurses’ attitudes towards family importance care in care and their anticipated extent of family nursing practice.
Methods:
- Design:
A cross-factional design using an explanatory associational approach was embraced.
- Participants:
The collected study population of the nurses who have worked in an ICU for more than 6 months.The population tally was used to draft the nursing staff. About 150 nurses were gathered to take part in this study, likewise, 150 inquiries were assigned to the invited nurses.
About 116 nurses were returned fully completed inquiries from the 150 gathered nurses making approx 77% feedback rate. Unfortunately, 34 nurses did not return the inquiries.
- Procedure:
For assembling the data, the information of the study and notification to take part in the activity was sent to the acceptable staff of ICU in all the 13 hospitals’ intensive care units in Uganda. Participation in thestudy is absolutely spontaneous.
After spontaneously signing the written agreement form, the participants could then complete the close-ended and open-ended questions. The apparatus was delivered by the research assistant.
The members choose to complete the survey either using a paper and a pencil layout or either online. Secrecy of intimate data was maintained. Data was stored in a database without the adjective and was not shared with any person outside the research group. Data collection was implemented from March-April 2019.
Ethical Consideration:
The Ethics committee of Tehran University of medical sciences and the Research and ethics committee of Clarke International University, Uganda helped to seek out the ethics authorization.
The participants’ earlier soughed out the agreement; they were spontaneous, and the secrecy was always noted. The privacy was maintained by making sure that the information is not shared outside the research team through any of the participants.

Conclusively, the interference of offspring in the patients’ care holds very large importance. Moreover, the participation of parents in the Child’s care in the hospital is equally important as a family in the patients’ one.
